7:51 PM: Pharrell is performing, but more importantly he is wearing the Canadian Mountie hat again this time in black.
7:59 PM: Best Costume Design– “The Great Gatsby”. Vegas is 2 for 2 at picking winners.
8:02 PM: Best Makeup and Hairstyling- “Dallas Buyers Club ” Still no upsets thus far.
8:15 PM: Best Animated Short– “Mr. Hublot”. And we have our first upset of the evening. “Mr. Hublot” (+650 to win) takes down favorite “Get a Horse!” (-900)
8:16 PM: Best Animated Feature– “Frozen”. The Disney product finishes its sweep of awards season.
8:22 PM: Best Visual Effects– “Gravity”. “Gravity” begins its run of technical awards.
8:26 PM: Alright, it’s happened too many times now to be on the presenters. The teleprompter is either in a terrible position or the person running it messing up the people reading it. Been very few presenters who haven’t struggled with it.
8: 31PM: Best Live Action Short- “Helium” Slight upset over favorite “The Voorman Problem.”
8:34 PM: Best Documentary Short– “The Lady in Number 6”
8:38 PM: Best Documentary Feature- “20 Feet from Stardom” Minor upset over “The Act of Killing”.
8:50 PM: Best Foreign Language Film-“The Great Beauty”

And with that it is over. All in all , it was a very predictable and dramaless Oscars. Vegas correctly predicted all but 3 of the winners (all three of the misses occurred before 9:00). Ellen DeGeneres was Ellen. Her most controversial moment was when she angered millions of Twitter users when she crashed the website after she tweeted out the “greatest selfie of all time” brought to you by Samsung. Without giving the speeches much time to breath, the most widely beloved speech was that of Lupita Nyong’o. Matthew McConaughey’s was definitely interesting.
