SCC willl host the 2014 NJCAA Region XVI Tournament Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.  The site for the event rotates, and this year it is the Lady Cougars’ turn.

SCC enters the tournament as the number one seed, completing the regular season undefeated in regional play ( 3-0) and 12-4 overall. The Lady Cougars will play Maple Woods in their opening round game at 2 pm. Maple Woods went winless in regional play and 1-9 overall. In their only meeting this year SCC won 6-0 at home. Freshman Raven Loughridge, the team’s leading scorer, recorded a hat trick in the game.

In the first game, St. Louis and Blue River will battle to see who advances to the regional championship. St. Louis finished the regular season third in Region XVI (1-2), while Blue River finished second (2-1). Their only regular season matchup ended in a 4-1 Blue River victory.

Oct. 31

11 am – (3) St. Louis CC vs. (2) MCC- Blue River

1 pm -All-Region Players announced

2 pm- (4) MCC- Maple Woods vs. (1) SCC

Nov. 1

2 pm– Region XVI Title Game- Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2

The winner of the Region XVI tournament will the Region XXIV (24) champ, Lewis & Clark or Southwestern Illinois College.
