After his tour around the NFL, the former Titans wide receiver has decided to rejoin his former coach Jeff Fisher in St. Louis.
Britt will be coming in on a one-year contract worth $1.4 million with $550,000 guaranteed. With incentives, the total value can be boosted to $2.9 million. The move is low-risk, high-reward for a team that desperately needs help at wide receiver.
Britt had a promising start to his career under Fisher after being selected in the first round in the 2009 NFL Draft out of Rutgers. Since then however, Britt has been at the center point of multiple off the field issues, injuries and costly drops. Britt was marginalized 2013, recording a pedestrian 11 catches during the regular season.
The Rams are counting on Britt to help shape up a struggling receiving core. Britt can be an immediate starter on the outside and if he can match or surpass the early production he had in his career while keeping out of trouble, this would be a massive off-season victory for the Rams.
